HAYLEY DREDGE

Hayley Dredge studied at the Royal Academy of Music where she graduated with a Bachelor of Music Degree in 1998, having been awarded the Renata Scheffel-Stein Prize and the Dorothy Day Award. Hayley completed her studies with Skaila Kanga on the Post-Graduate Performers Course in 1999, also at the Royal Academy.

Her orchestral work has included performances with The European Union Youth Orchestra, a recording session with the Philharmonia, London Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, English Symphony Orchestra, British Youth Opera, Britten-Pears Orchestra and many amateur orchestras.

Angel Flute and Harp DuoRecent theatre work has included The King and I at the London Palladium, Elergies at the Pleasance Theatre, London, Wind in the Willows and Shakespeare’s The Tempest both the Nuffield Theatre in Southampton.

Hayley has recently performed with the Northern Ballet Theatre (Wuthering Heights), Moscow City Ballet (Swan Lake, Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella) and Broomfield Opera Company (Carmen), she has also taken part in many amateur opera performances including The Pearl Fishers (Bizet), The Cunning Little Vixen (Janecek), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Britten), Ariadne auf Naxos (Strauss) and Madame Butterfly and Gianni Schicchi (Puccini).

Concerto performances include the Dittersdorf Harp Concerto with the Surrey Sinfonietta at Fairfield Halls, Croydon, The Handel Harp Concerto with 21 other professional harpists with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales at St David’s Hall, Cardiff and a performance of the Mozart Flute and harp Concerto with the Bath Philharmonia.

Hayley is also a keen jazz harpists playing with Frances Ruffle at Ronnie Scotts jazz Club in 1998 and attended the first European Jazz Harp Festival in Germany in 2000 with tutors Park Stickney and Harvey Griffin. Hayley has been a classical soloist on the Page & Moy and Fred Olsen cruise ships since 2000.

SOPHIE ANGEL TURNER

In 19993, Sophie won a place at the Royal College of Music, studying under Susan Milan and Michael Cox where she participated in master-classes with Robert Winn, Paul Edmond Davis and Sebastian Bell. Sophie played principal flute with all three college orchestras, she also performed with various chamber ensembles. In addition to giving solo recitals throughout London her college prizes include the Douglas Whittaker Chamber Music Prize and the Douglas Whittaker Flute Prize.

Sophie has performed regularly with the Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra, the Amadeus Orchestra and the London Philharmonic Youth Orchestra under conductors Sir George Solti and Sir Yehudi Menuhin.

Sophie now freelances with a number of orchestras in and around London. She is principal flute with the award winning Buckingham Symphonic Wind Ensemble and performs with the “Angel Duo”.

The Angel Duo Started when Hayley and Sophie met at the Landmark in 1999 where they enjoyed a background music residency for two years. The Angel Duo is now concentrating on recitals and joined the Black Watch (Fred Olsen) cruise ship in October 20002 for a Caribbean cruise as solo artists.
