Aurora Harp & Flute Duo

The Aurora Duo was formed in 1998 whilst Kate and Dawn were studying at Trinity College of Music, London.  They received coaching from renowned soloists Sioned Williams, Wissam Boustany and Nona Liddell.  During this time they won numerous competitions including the UK Harp Association Prize, the Trinity College of Music Gold Medal and the Croydon Music Festival Concerto Prize.  This led to performances of the Mozart Flute and harp concerto with Trinity Chamber Orchestra at the Royal Naval Chapel in Greenwich and the Jubilee Prom concert in Birmingham.  They regularly perform recitals around the country in venues such as St Martin-in-the-fields, Southwark Cathedral, Culzean Castle and Glamis Castle, the birthplace of the Queen Mother. 

As orchestral players they have played with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Scottish Sinfonia for radio broadcasts, CD recordings and live performances at the Royal Festival Hall, Barbican Centre and St Johns, Smith Square. 

In addition to their duo and orchestral experience, the Aurora Dup performs an extensive repertoire of light jazz, popular and classical musical at hotels, weddings and functions such as The Ritz, the Mandarin Oriental, Sofitel St. James’, the Langham Hilton and the Balmoral Hotel, Edinburgh.
